Occupation: Food Stylist
What did you want to be when you were a little girl?
Hilariously a roller skating waitress. When I got a little bit older, I wanted to be an artist.
What are some different jobs you’ve had in your life?
My professional path has been winding. I started sweeping hair at a salon when I was 15, then transitioned into restaurant work throughout high school and college (while working summers with kids at a day camp). I worked for years as a bookkeeper and financial consultant for small businesses, and was also a television commercial producer, which led me to my ultimate career in food styling.
What do you work toward in your spare time?
Spare time is a funny concept for a creative freelancer who runs her own business. Work is 24/7 for me, but I do make personal fitness, traveling to see friends, and time with my nieces and nephews a priority in my life. I try to be creative on a daily basis, which is technically work for me, but it’s fun so it doesn’t always feel like work.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Definitely morning. I’m up at 5AM and at the gym by 6-6:30AM every day.
What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of my work. Being able to bring ideas to life on a day-to-day basis is a dream come true. Every day I create something new that I love more than the day before.
What are you known for?
I like to think I’m known for my ideas, my enthusiasm, my reliability and my professionalism. I pride myself on being a team player and great to work with.
What inspires you?
What DOESN’T inspire me is a better question. The world is constantly bombarding me with ideas. Nature, people, music, colors, fabrics, the way the light hits something……I find inspiration everywhere I turn.
Tell me something about you that most people don’t know.
I love snail mail. I regularly mail letters to all my loved ones. My stationary collection is pretty epic.
Why did you apply to be an O Mag Insider?
I’ve admired Oprah for years. The principles she preaches are the guiding forces for my life: gratitude, empathy, self-awareness, and kindness. The opportunity to be a part of a group of women that share and spread these values was too exciting to pass up.
How do you live your best life?
Every day I try to do the same thing. Show up (for myself and others), work hard, be kind, repeat. I truly believe the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference, so I like to go out of my way to do things like compliment strangers, hold doors, and let people pull out in front of me in traffic. I try really hard to remember to check in with people I love and make sure I stay in tune with important things going on in their lives.
What are you reading now?

What’s a day in your life like?
Every day is different but they all start out the same. Early morning workout! I get up at 5am, drink 2 cups of coffee and head to a class (spin, Pilates and yoga are my favorites). Most days involve a photo shoot, so I’ll either come home to start prepping in my home studio, or I’ll pack my car and head to whatever location I’m working at that day. Once the shoot wraps I head home to walk my dogs and make dinner for me and my husband. After dinner, hours are spent photo editing, social media scheduling, writing blog posts, and catching up on Netflix or Bravo TV (guilty pleasure!) Usually I’m in bed around 9:30PM for some reading before I fall asleep.
