What are some different jobs you’ve had in your life?
I’ve always been a writer for the whole of my career. I started as a writer for a newspaper and eventually moved to writing and producing for television.
What do you work toward in your spare time?
In my spare time, I’m working toward writing my second book. It’s about many of the things I share on my blog with practical advice inspiring mothers to follow our dreams.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I can be a little bit of both when I have to be. I think I work better in the afternoons though. That’s when I really feel like I get into a good groove.
What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of my growth. I’m a completely different woman than I was even a few years ago. I’m proud that I’m always open to learn and be better. I hope that never changes.
What are you known for?
I’m known for being tall! Ha! I’m 6’1” and that’s what most people hold on to.
What inspires you?
I know it sounds cliche, but it’s true. I’m inspired by my kids. It’s hard not to be. Kids haven’t been knocked down by life, and so they approach things with a different determination. I am learning to change my approach and not be too attached to the outcome. A lot of that attitude comes from my kids.
Tell me something about you that most people don’t know.
Hmmm… most people don’t know how much I LOVE to sing. It’s probably because I rarely sing around people other than my kids. They love it and tell me I should be in a singing contest. I think they have to say that though. I am their mom!
Why did you apply to be an O Mag Insider?
I am continually inspired by Oprah and her journey. Her story is unique and really drives home the fact that being true to yourself pays off. Embracing our own uniqueness and creating our own lane is worth the risk. The idea of being an Insider was intriguing. I’m glad I applied and happy to have met some really amazing people.
How do you live your best life?
Living my best life looks like continuing to make myself a priority. It’s really hard to do with two small children! I also have promised myself that I’d keep taking chances, even when I’m afraid.
What are you reading now?
I am on a reading frenzy these days. I’m on my seventh book this year! I just finished a book called Improvement by Joan Silber. Next up is Hunger by Roxane Gay.
What’s a day in the life of Camesha Gosha like?
A day in the life looks like lots of movement. There’s getting the kids to school. There are different drop off and pick up times. My work happens mostly in between those times! That’s when I write blog posts, get a few more pages written for my book, draft emails for readers, do research for a course I’m creating, etc. There are always a ton of errands to run as well. When I can, I take care of them online (Amazon Fresh to the rescue). Once the kids are out, it’s homework, activities (karate, running club, Girl Scouts, etc.) before we wind down the day. I keep evenings free to catch up with my husband. I’m usually too tired to work at night, unless I HAVE to.
