Occupation: International fashion model, entrepreneur (modelpreneur) and former pro basketball player
What did you want to be when you were a little girl?
When I was a little girl I wanted to be a professional basketball player just like my mother.
What are some different jobs you’ve had in your life?
Some of the different jobs I’ve had include playing basketball professionally in Madrid, Spain, working for NIKE as a model/athlete in South America, modeling for Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles at The Wearable Art Gala honoring Beyoncé, modeling at Paris Fashion Week, and much more.
What do you work toward in your spare time?
In my spare time I work toward creating more opportunities for aspiring fashion entrepreneurs. Through my company, The Modelpreneur Bootcamp, I have been able to introduce more aspiring and freelance artists to opportunities like Paris fashion week. The Modelpreneur Bootcamp is a hands-on educational fashion hub for independent and freelance fashion entrepreneurs. Through our online courses, hands on workshops, and international work expeditions, we are able to provide an interactive learning experience across the globe! Our participants are GUARANTEED to leave enriched, empowered, and more educated in their field. The skills learned from our programs teach them how to book their dream job by providing the experience and challenges they need to build an awesome resume!
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I would definitely consider myself to be more of a night owl.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of my family and lineage. I come from a family of strong men and even stronger women. The women in my family are all leaders in their field and have always given me an excellent example to follow.
What are you known for?
I am known for being a 6’2 former professional basketball player that retired and took to the fashion runway.
What inspires you?
What inspires me is being able to inspire others. I know that if I continue to work hard and set my sights high, it will encourage others to do the same.
Tell me something about you that most people don’t know.
Something about me that most people don’t know is that I actually suffer from Narcolepsy. Although it does make things a bit more difficult for me, I do not let it stop me from achieving all that I set out to do. I keep the condition to myself because most people don’t really understand what it means to be diagnosed with Narcolepsy. Most people have this false belief that it means falling asleep at the drop of the hat. Although that can be the case, that is usually a very extreme case. What Narcolepsy really is is feeling tired all of the time, from the time you wake up to the time you go back to sleep. I was unaware of it when I was playing basketball in college, which lead coaches and teammates to assume that I was lazy. I’m sure you can imagine how frustrating that was.
Why did you apply to be an O Mag Insider?
I applied to be an O Mag Insider because Oprah is one of my biggest inspirations. She has indirectly been a mentor of mine for the past few years. Just as she inspired me, I aspire to do the same for others.
How do you live your best life?
I live my best life by always remembering to take time out for myself as often as necessary. Mental health is primary, and I pride myself in being able to maintain my own through rest and meditation practices.

What’s a day in your life like?
A day in my life is literally different everyday. No two days are the same, and I happen to love it. On one day I may be working from home doing social media marketing for my brands, website building, or setting appointments. On another day I may be acting on the set of a popular TV show. Though being a modelpreneur can have its ups and downs, it is nothing short of interesting.
