Meet O Mag Insider – Jenn Powell!

Age: 43

Occupation: Owner, Ever After in the Woods and Art Teacher

What did you want to be when you were a little girl?

Advertising Executive or Dancer

What are some different jobs you’ve had in your life?

Dance Coach, Bartender, toll booth collector

What do you work toward in your spare time?

Making my blog, Ever After in the Woods better for my readers.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Definitely a morning person – we are usually asleep by 8:00pm.

What are you most proud of?

My children

What are you known for?

Going out of my way for everyone.

What inspires you?

My daughter truly inspires me every day. I wish I had the confidence she has! She is smart, sassy, kind and beautiful. She “gets caught doing something good” at school every week. She is an amazing young lady.

Tell me something about you that most people don’t know.

I am very shy. It takes me a while to open up to people, but once I do, I will be your friend for life.

Why did you apply to be an O Mag Insider?

I love everything that Oprah stands for: kindness, gratitude, positivity, and power. She is everything I want for myself and for my daughter to become.

How do you live your best life?

By putting others first. If there is someone I can help, it makes me feel good on the inside to help him or her. This could be by teaching, donating time or more. My children are the best thing I have ever done in my life, and I cherish the time I have with them. My oldest will be a senior in High School next year!

What are you reading now?

I just finished “I’ve Been Thinking…: Reflections, Prayers, and Meditations for a Meaningful Life” by Maria Shriver, and it was so good! I loved the small tidbits that she shared of her life with her children as well as inspirational words of wisdom to help you get through difficult times.

What’s a day in the life of Jenn Powell like?

I am currently home with a back injury from teaching, so my day-to-day has slowed down quite a bit! I enjoy reading and baking while the kids are at school and focus on them when they come home!
