Occupation: Owner of a Pilates/Cryotherapy Studio in Redondo Beach, a non- profit kitten shelter, and creator of Positive Affirmation Coffee Lids.
What did you want to be when you were a little girl?
A Personal Trainer or a Veterinarian
What are some different jobs you’ve had in your life?
I started at Nordstrom at 16, opened a coffee house after I graduated from SDSU at 22, worked at Club Med and then moved into the corporate end of the Health and Fitness world in Los Angeles at age 26. I finally took to my ultimate passion which was personal training at the age of 29, which is what I still do today.
What do you work toward in your spare time?
Creating positivity in the world and helping with the homeless kitten community in the Beach Cities in Los Angeles.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Neither- I’m right in the middle.
What are you most proud of?
That I have been in business for myself since 22 and have never been afraid to try anything new or unusual in the business world. My mom gave me tons of encouragement and courage growing up! I had great parents; they made me pretty fearless, so I’m lucky!
What are you known for?
Being Tom Cruise’s Personal Trainer.
What inspires you?
People who help—I’m inspired by people who want to do the right thing for the benefit of others, whether that be helping friends, clients, employees, strangers, or animals. We all have specials talents, and I think we should use them to help others.
Tell me something about you that most people don’t know.
I was Tom Cruise’s Trainer when he jumped on Oprah’s Couch. Back then, no one understood why he did that… but I did!!
How do you live your best life?
Daily meditation, workouts, getting sleep, and clean eating helps keep me healthy and happy. I also love new creations and innovations in the workplace, so I’m constantly reading about the latest and greatest to share with my amazing clients. Additionally, I travel outside the country a lot to keep me grounded and show me other perspectives in this world. Spending time with my family and friends is also a must for a good life and laughter!
What are you reading now?
The Astonishing Power of Emotions by Esther Hicks – it’s the only book of her and Abraham’s that I hadn’t read. Her readings inspire me like no other!
What’s a day in your life like?
I get up at 7:30am, get my coffee (and daily affirmation) and jump on the treadmill. Then I head to my Pilates and Cryotherapy studio to teach classes and work on projects for the affirmation business or the kittens. At night I spend time with my man, read, catch a movie, or grab a bite near the pier. I also like to travel on the weekends or plan my next vacation like the Oprah/Holland America Cruise that just happened!
