Occupation: Lifestyle Blogger and Life Coach
What did you want to be when you were a little girl?
A singer!!!! Now, I just sing lullabies 🙂
What are some different jobs you’ve had in your life?
A barista… maybe starting my love for coffee before I even drank it! (I loved the smell but couldn’t stand the taste back then, ha!). I was a secretary and then an office manager for awhile. A graphic designer and photographer… which is probably the closest to what I do now with FreshMommyBlog and a great learning experience for that!
What do you work toward in your spare time?
Being a better version of me and the best mom I can be. Meaning I LOVE to spend free time at home, as I’m truly a home-body 😉 I’m also learning to listen to my body and mind for those times that rest and self-care are needed. To me, travel (which we love) is an adventure and the self-care and inner growth happens at home.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I naturally lean towards being a night owl for sure… but with four kids who are always up early, those evening hours are slowly making their way backwards as I get to bed earlier and earlier it seems.
What are you most proud of?
My four children!
What are you known for?
This was a hard question for me… I’m not sure what others know me for! My hope is that I’m known to be an encourager in all that I do.
And a bit from my bio: Tabitha has been named Tampa Bay’s most influential mommy blogger and is the writer behind FreshMommyBlog as well as hosts her own online cooking show, KitchenWise, and new home remodel series, House to Home. She has made appearances on Daytime TV and has been featured multiple times in print and national magazines, like InStyle, Health, Real Simple, Southern Living, and more.
What inspires you?
I’ve always found that inspiration is cyclical. Reading a quote that moves you, the smile as your baby looks into your eyes, a beautiful photo, nature, the sounds of a wave crashing onto the sandy shoreline, the twinkle of a night skyline that lights up the sky. When we’re inspired by something… it moves us to create and then we can inspire others. My inspiration comes from so many things, and usually it’s different every day, but when I take the time to really take in what’s happening around me – that’s when I open myself up to be inspired.
Tell me something about you that most people don’t know.
My heart for finding beauty in the chaos, stems from our personal losses. Losing two babies through miscarriage (and one being a later term loss), has only stirred my heart for children and loving others to their biggest potential. We can rise beyond our pain. We can overcome.
On a lighter note, I have this strange love for chocolate covered pretzels along with a glass of orange juice on ice! Sounds weird, but it’s so good.
Why did you apply to be an O Mag Insider?
I want to live authentically with as much heart as I can muster, loving those around me to their fullest potential and biggest dreams. Yes, maybe a little dramatic, but living fiercely is park of my make up. I want the extraordinary that rises in the midst of the ordinary.
Reading O Magazine and the heart behind it, encouraging others to live their best life – well, that was something I wanted to get on board with!
How do you live your best life?
Doing what it is that I truly love, and not allowing the opinions of others to influence it. My word this year has been YES… to say yes to adventure, in turn that means saying yes to the right things and no to the wrong things. As we do this in life though, it will be full of the things we love.
My goal for this year has simply been to work smarter, not harder. And while in general it’s a pretty generic goal, it’s also allowed me many opportunities for personal growth and study. There is going to be SO MUCH that I’ll be sharing on the subject soon, but as an overview, I’m learning to take on less of a workload (finding that ever elusive balance), stop the myth that is multitasking, how to focus and be present (whether it’s work or play), and divide my workload and lists into increments.
What are you reading now?
I’m just re-opening a book called She Means Business. But really, I usually have about four reads going at once!
What’s a day in the life of Tabitha Blue like?
Oh goodness, it changes on the daily!! As an entrepreneur, the only thing that remains the same is a morning and an evening routine, which I talk about in detail on FreshMommyBlog because I feel it’s SO important for a successful day! With four kiddos and a schedule that works in photoshoots and video shoots, meetings, networking, phone calls, travel and time at home with family, it seems like no two days are truly alike. Though we do try and get homeschooling for our two oldest done in the morning while our 4-year old is at preschool. I truly thought it was so fun to see another Insider’s day explained in emojis, so here’s mine: ☕👶🏼👟🎒📚👩🏻💻🎥📸🏊♀️🌱💐👠👜🥗🍲🧖♀️🤳🏼😴
