Parenting Teens in a Digital World

Parenting Teens in a Digital World is available today on Amazon!

On March 13th, 2020, my administration told me that I would be teaching remotely. The goal was to flatten the curve of Covid-19. At the time, I figured I’d be home a couple of weeks, and then life would get back to normal.

Little did I know, I would finish out the school year and begin the following school year remotely!

Being home 24-7 was the motivating factor I needed to finally craft a book. It was a goal that had been burning inside of me for years. I also joined a virtual writing retreat that gave me the encouragement and skills to self-publish my own book.

If you need a writing or public speaking mentor, I highly recommend Gahmya Drummond-Bey.  She leads informative and fun virtual seminars that connect you with people on the same path.

After teaching for 20 years and being a mom to three, I felt the need to share what I know from both teacher and mom perspectives.

Parenting Teens in a Digital World is a handbook for busy parents. It offers ways to connect with children, partner with teachers, and navigate the digital space. Click below to watch my interview with my first-born, Rebi Jordan!

My hope is that it serves parents and teachers in a positive way and brings back communication and connection in the family unit.

During this pandemic, I finally fulfilled a lifelong dream of writing a book!

I believe, as a teacher, I am able to give some insight into what I see in the classroom and how it reflects what is going on at home.

The digital world is a relatively new issue that exploded over the last couple of decades. Technology moves at such a fast pace that parents tend to lose control of what their children see, hear, and do on the internet.

This book is my way of saying parents do have control, but they have to be willing to put in the work, for their own sake and most importantly, the sake of their children.

Parenting Teens in a Digital World arrives TODAY, November 27, 2020!  Make sure to order your copy HERE!

I think it would make a great stocking stuffer this holiday season!
