Five Takeaways From 2018

“Self-reflection is the school of wisdom”

~Baltasar Gracian

New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to sit back and think about the past year. To relish the good and learn from the bad.

Today, I looked at my 2018 vision board and felt so happy about all of the things I accomplished. I truly believe that looking at my vision board every single day truly affected how my year unraveled.

Here are my five big takeaways from 2018:

1. Be fearless

This was my word for 2018, and it served me well. I will continue to use this to help guide me in my future decisions. I was too complacent and idle in my comfort zone for many many years. It’s important to stop doubting yourself and to embrace the life you see for yourself.

2. Set goals and envision them

Without goals, you really have no pathway to success. It’s like you’re fluttering in the wind with no sail. It’s important to write them down, but it’s also important to envision yourself accomplishing those goals. Give yourself permission to daydream!

3. Live with a grateful heart

Don’t underestimate the power of gratitude. When you concentrate on what you’re grateful for, more incredible things come your way. Gratitude is a springboard for living a positive happy life.

4. Make time for self-care

I’ve always known this to be true, but this past year really showed me how necessary it is to ensure downtime for myself. It enables me to be a better person all-around. Without it, I’m not at 100%. This includes making time for exercising, meditating, journaling, etc.

5. Your tribe affects your vibe

As an O Mag Insider, I am blessed to be a part of a tribe of positive, supportive, smart, kind GO-GETTERS! Having this support system has elevated my life in so many ways – from giving me more confidence, feeling supported and understood, and providing me with endless inspiration – to name a FEW!
